2026 Saba Saba in Pictures

The 2026 Saba Saba protests were marked by solidarity, camaraderie, and courage, with smaller groups huddled around the city and in various spaces around the country. The events were met with threats, intimidation, and arrests. Coming just after the 2nd anniversary of the Gen Z Protests on June 25th, the day saw relative calm, with many prominent leaders who’d celebrated it before staying away. Our journalists Jimmy Kitiro and Yusuf Wanjala were in the streets to capture the moments.
