Dandora People’s Park

The Dandora area is home to thousands of Kenyans who live and ply their trade within the vicinity. Dandora People’s Park is within a walking distance from the infamous Dandora dumpsite in North-east of Nairobi. The park lies along the banks of Nairobi River and runs right up to the bridge that crosses from Dandora to Korogocho estates, and plays a crucial role in the life of the community. Surprisingly, it was rehabilitated by former gangsters under the Komb Green Solutions, led by Mr. Fredrick Okinda. Our photojournalist Jimmy Kitiro captured a day in the life of the park.
