Pressed Freedom: The State of Media in Kenya
There have been increased cases on threats to press freedom in Kenya. Kenya is currently ranked 116th out of 200 Countries in terms of limited freedom according to World Press Freedom Index by Reporters without Borders.
Despite the challenges, Journalists continue to tell stories about people in society by informing and educating the public, holding those in power accountable, and fostering a functioning democracy. However, Journalists being the voice of the voiceless, who speaks for them? In the wake of the digital disruption, does journalism have a future?
